Revamped Skirt - 9/23/14

This skirt started out life as a dress that I made a few years ago, but I made it a bit too small, and the armholes were really uncomfortable.  But I loved the fabric, so I just chopped off the top half, and added elastic to the waistline.  It is functional at the moment, but I still want to adjust the waist to be a bit more professional looking.

What I wore:
  • black elbow-sleeve tee
  • black shawl cardigan
  • black/white filigree skirt
  • wide black belt
  • black tights
  • black loafers
  • diamond studs
  • black/silver watch
  • pearl/silver ring
Where I went:
  • work
How I felt:
  • A bit like an elementary school teacher, for some reason.  A-line skirts and dresses do that to me, and I'm not sure why.
What would have made it better:
  • I need to adjust the waist on the skirt a bit, and I wasn't crazy about the shoes with the outfit.
